**Roles & Responsibilities**

1. Receives, screens, interviews, and registers patients;
- Enters Accurately patient data into files and automated databases
- Takes and records measurements [weight, temperature, height]
- Obtains patient histories; prepares and updates medical charts and associated records.

2. Answers telephone inquiries from patients and others;
- screens calls to determine nature and urgency of inquiry,
- schedules appointments with specialist/ allied healthcare practitioners;
- instructs patients as needed regarding administrative and/or logístical matters.

3. Arranges for prescribed laboratory tests, specialist referrals, and/or diagnostic procedures;
- orders prescribed patient care aids as directed;.
- performs or assists in the performance of basic clinical and/or laboratory procedures [urine diptick test, collect urine samples]
- assists with diagnostic tests eg. Venepuncture or treatment eg ear syringing performed by the doctor.

4. Collects, verifies, records, and maintains data on clinical activity and/or research; prepares associated reports as required.

5. Orders and maintains inventories of supplies, as required to support day-to-day clinical and administrative operations.

6. Prepare documents and reports, provide office services, scheduling and and/or providing translation services.

7. Obtains and verifies patient billing information, processes patient accounts, and maintains records.

8. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and serviceability of facilities & equipment;

arranges for maintenance and repair as needed.

9. May supervise and/or lead lower graded staff.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

10.Supervises the cleaning of the clinic environment to ensure that it promotes patients’ safety and hygiene.
- Ensures that the procedure room is set, by bringing in and arranging all items needed
- for a procedure to be performed, and is always on standby to assist with items that may be needed during a procedure.

The Cheery Child Clinic is a specialist clinic that is dedicated to the care of newborn, toddlers and children up to the age of 16 years.
