Alternative Ops Fund Accounting, AVP

Who we are looking for The Assistant Vice President (AVP) oversees the management of teams that provides accounting and performance reporting, data collection, and data validation services to Asset Owners and Asset Managers. The AVP acts as the primary escalation point for our clients, who are some of the largest institutional investors in Alternative Investments in the world. They will lead efforts on new client conversions, systems updates, and special projects, as well as providing direct oversight and mentorship to the Officers on the team. The AVP will also work closely with our clients to provide data support and reporting solutions, participate in client RFP discussions, and lead client training sessions, as needed. Why This Role Is Important to Us Alternative Investment Solutions State Street's Alternative Investment Solutions group provides a complete suite of services to more than 750 clients, including institutional investors, hedge fund managers, private equity fund managers and real estate fund managers.We offer deep, product-specific expertise in alternative investments and flexible, innovative alternative investment solutions, including fund accounting, fund administration, corporate administration, risk and credit services. Asset Owner - Private Markets The Private Market team is focused on providing administrative and analytical solutions to institutional investors in Private Equity and Real Estate. Our team tracks all communications from our clients' General Partners, processes all cash movements, updates investment valuations, captures underlying portfolio company and property details, and provides online tools for performance and exposure reporting. What you will be responsible for: Ensure their teams are delivering timely and accurate accounting data updates and reports to our clients and their constituents Work closely with clients to provide reporting solutions via online training, as needed Provide direct oversight and mentorship to Senior Associates and Officers on the team Ensure that all team members are following Standard Operating Procedures, and that quality control checks are in place for all client deliverables Provide secondary review of scheduled and ad-hoc accounting and performance and underlying company exposure reporting prepared by Officers and Associates, as needed Work with senior managers to assist with new client conversions, RFP responses, development and rollout of system enhancements, and special projects as needed Qualifications: BA/BS in finance, accounting, or a related discipline - MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus 8-10 years of experience working in Alternative Investments required Proven expertise in performance measurement and accounting for Alternative Investments Excellent organizational, interpersonal and service-oriented skills required Proven ability to lead a team of managers and associates working on a wide array of responsibilities Additional Skills Include: Ability to work in various wed-based applications and MS Office tools Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, work independently and collaboratively Strong verbal and written communications skills and have the ability to handle multiple priorities About State Street Across the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
