Our client, a well- established private bank with a presence in Singapore and Hong Kong is looking to expand their business within the Asia Pacific region. The company is looking for a VP - Business Risk to join their front office business risk team. Job Responsibilities: The business risk manager will be responsible for and focus on regulatory requirements topics with a focus on Customer Suitability, Pricing, Investor Protection, Cross border & Shared Relationship. He/She will be a Subject Matter Expert (SMEs), and service provider to the Front Office and other stakeholders. Provide on-going monitoring and assessment of key regulatory developments to foster awareness and support the regulatory transformation of relevant legal and regulatory obligations within the Bank. The Business Risk Manager will act as a Contact Person for key topics and issues related to Front and Clients and implement front and control initiatives. He/She will work with various stakeholders or SMEs to launch solutions in order to reduce business risks and enhance operational efficiency. The Business Risk team will work with relevant SMEs on new or existing product and service offering Act as first line of defense for the company and act as the key contact point for Asia. Be an independent Subject Matter Expert on front office risk topics, required to manage junior colleagues to take on business risk related projects. Manage and strengthen the regulatory solutions for Client Investment Suitability, Investor Protection, Pricing, Crossborder and Shared Relationship competencies of the Bank to ensure effective and robust frameworks, including processes, procedures, tools, training, and controls in Asia. Provide hands-on support to front staff and subject matter expertise to regulatory projects and initiatives. Work with First Line of Business and act as First Line of Defense to maintain the Risk, Control and Governance framework for relevant business risks, provide central guidance and expertise within Asia. Responsible to promote Risk and Control culture and conduct training workshops for team leaders and client relationship managers. Work with other relevant stakeholders to support requests and reviews from regulators, external auditors and Group Internal Audit. Work with different SMEs or stakeholders to ensure on the round implementation for change business initiatives for the Front. Act as FO representative to review, comment and advise on necessary preventive control and process. Champion and initiate Front Office initiatives, process/operation streamline activities, risk management or remediation projects together with different parties to balance between the compliance of rules and regulations, increase operational efficiency as well as reduce business risks. Manage the review and issuance of Front Office broadcasts, organizing regular Asia Front Office forums. Provide Support & Control to Asia Front Office, including reviewing FO system access right and payment fraud prevention review. Requirements: Min 8 years of relevant working experience in Private Banking environment with a strong risk management background working in front office business risk.
