We are looking for a talent who is strong in legal compliance and have experience within the Cryptocurrency space This entity is a Singapore-based institutional-only global digital asset exchange , established as a joint venture and offers regulated trading, clearing, settlement, and custody services for digital securities and crypto derivatives. You will be responsible for building a strong and collaborative relationships with the business and the Management Team and Board, providing solution-oriented advice and clear leadership on issues that are key to the organisation and its success. Responsibilities Drive regulatory and legal activities related to the establishment Identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting legal risks. Escalating material legal matters ad-hoc and reporting regularly about the overall legal risk situation Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (Singapore and international), obtain and maintain necessary regulatory authorisations and approvals, report to and liaise with regulators in Singapore and abroad Enable business growth in line with legal obligations, support new business initiatives and opportunities Ensure Corporate Governance, board secretarial services as well as a uniform approach to interaction with the authorities Negotiate, draft and review commercial agreements and provide legal advice on a variety of transactional matters, also providing oversight to external counsel Advise and participate in cross border joint venture transactions and corporate M&A activities Support in the development and implementation of the legal framework of Asia Digital Exchange Contribute to team-based design of new products and services Prove practical legal advice and support in day-to-day business, in particular financial markets, contract, corporate and securities law. Monitor, manage and track completion of adherence to regulatory expectations Qualifications Education Undergraduate degree from a reputable university and ideally a qualified lawyer in one or more relevant jurisdictions. Further post-graduate studies in Law or Economics (e.g. LL.M., MBA) will be advantageous. Experience & Skills Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience in similar position Experience or strong affinity for new technologies such as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), blockchain, digital assets (tokens), smart contracts and their regulatory implications Familiarity with, or solid knowledge of Singapore Compliance regulations and the implementation of data protection regulations Demonstrable experience of managing relationships with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) A diverse technical legal skill set, in particular with regard to financial market laws, corporate and contract law, competition law and IT law; a good understanding securities trading and post-trading business and of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) would be an advantage Knowledge of the financial services sector, particularly surrounding M&A activities and cross border JV agreements is highly desirable An appreciation of digital asset, blockchain, distributed ledger and crypto custody technologies A broad understanding on various international regulatory environments and key compliance subjects applicable to the financial services industry
