Role Overview

We are looking for a Linux Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role is perfect for someone eager to build a strong foundation in system administration and grow into a more senior infrastructure role over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers and related systems.
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and uptime to ensure reliability.
  • Perform routine system checks, backups, and patch updates.
  • Support user accounts, permissions, and access control across Linux environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues as needed.
  • Help implement and maintain security best practices for Linux systems.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators and DevOps teams on deployment and configuration tasks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, changes, and procedures.
Required Skills
  • Basic understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat).
  • Familiarity with command-line tools, shell scripting, and package management.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH).
  • Understanding of file systems, permissions, and system logs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow processes and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with virtualization tools (VMware, VirtualBox, or KVM).
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Basic understanding of automation tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with Git or version control systems.
