French Language Teacher

Job summary:

As a French Language Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to educate and inspire in the French language. You will play a crucial role in fostering their language skills, cultural understanding, and overall development. Here are the main responsibilities associated with this role:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement effective French language teaching curriculum, including lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.

Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive French language lessons to students of varying ages and proficiency levels.

Language Proficiency: Assess language skills and adapt teaching methods to address their individual needs, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Cultural Awareness: Promote an understanding of French culture, history, and customs alongside language instruction.

Assessment and Feedback: Regularly evaluate student progress through quizzes, exams, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.

Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring discipline and respect among students.

Parent and Staff Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators to provide updates on student performance and participate in parent-teacher conferences when necessary.

Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies, language trends, and educational technology to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Cultural Activities: Organize or participate in cultural activities, events, or trips related to the French language and culture.

Requirements:

1. Must possess at least bachelor's degree in education / applied disciplines / teaching or equivalent for French; with academic certificates on teaching and learning French language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Education or French education certified.

• Experience teaching French at various levels.

• Cambridge Certified or acquired with CICTL / CIDT certification is a plus.

• At least 3 years of teaching experience in a similar or related environment.

• Demonstrate an acute and deep understanding of Cambridge curriculum for primary/secondary/high school programmes.

• Pedagogical qualification is a must.

• Advisory experience is an advantage.

• Ability to work under pressure and use of initiative is essential.

• Possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and, teamwork.

• Excellent verbal and written English skills. Proficiency in the French language, with excellent communication skills.

• Classroom management and instructional planning abilities.

• Computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.

• Must demonstrate / uphold KKIS vision, mission and core values.
