Job Description

  • Report to Senior Finance and Procurement Manager
  • Monitor a team of finance executives to manage full set of accounts, bank reconciliation and preparation of schedules
  • Perform day-to-day GL activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data in the GL
  • Perform full set of accounts for Primary Division's SMC accounts
  • Work with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and prepare monthly/annual financial accounts
  • Provide coverage and support for Accounts Payable (AP) and/or Accounts Receivable (AR) functions as needed, including during staff absence or peak periods
  • Perform year-end closing of accounts and coordinate with auditors on annual financial audit and ad hoc audits
  • Work with budget owners to prepare annual budgets and mid-year projections
  • Prepare budget templates and collate department budgets for annual budget and mid-year projections
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial reports in accordance with school and statutory requirements
  • Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts and monitor financial performance
  • Updates fixed asset register to ensure accurate and timely accounting of fixed asset net book values, depreciation and grant amortization
  • Work with the finance executive in accounting of grants and funds and prepare grant utilization reports
  • Handle GST filing matters
  • Perform treasury functions and liaise with the bank and board members on board resolutions/declarations pertaining to financial matters
  • Handle facility rental enquiries and manage quotation-to-payment processes, including issuing of quotation, invoice and updating of rental schedules
  • Work with management and the system vendor on financial system upgrade and maintenance
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager in preparing and reviewing financial policies/processes and internal controls
  • Other projects as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent with minimum 3 years of relevant experience in full sets of accounts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Knowledge in SAP and/or ACCPAC would be an advantage
  • Meticulous, independent and self-motivated
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Experience in accounting system implementation would be an advantage
