Application Delivery Lead, Mobile

The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain. 

 

The Group operates Singapore's national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

Team and Position Summary

As the NETS Digital application development and delivery lead, you will be primarily responsible for designing and delivering mission critical digital payment solutions for mobile and server-side Java-based applications at NETS. Leading a dynamic technical team, you will drive the speed, quality and reliability of innovative payment services.

You should be an excellent communicator who is able to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure and high-performance architecture and communicate the technical design effectively downstream to your team members. 

You will collaborate closely with other functional stakeholders within NETS such as Technology, Product Development, Business Development, Operations and Finance to ensure technical solutions align with business requirement and industry best practices.

Additionally, you will be required to have hands-on experience in software development and be able to guide the team through multiple concurrent development tracks, ensuring efficient execution of projects while maintaining compliance with security standards and payment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide application development & infrastructure oversight on service implementations tracks, ensuring scalable, secure and high-performance payment solutions.
• Oversee assigned book of work (e.g. conduct code review) and provide leadership to team members, fostering best practices in payment security, transaction processing and API integration.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaborations across the organization to develop and implement innovative digital payment services, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the Technology division, ensuring seamless service transitions from development to production and adherence to the company development processes and procedures.
• Cultivate open communication with internal & external stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, security enhancements and improved service implementation processes and methodologies.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback through one-on-one meetings, staff meetings and structured reviews.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Degree in Technology related disciplines with at least 10 years of progressive working experience in a Technical Lead role in medium to large sized organizations.
• Industry expertise in digital payment ecosystems including mobile applications, SDK developments, QR payments, credit cards, debit cards, and digital banking platforms.

Skills and Knowledge

• Integration Architecture experience with cloud (ie. AWS, Azure or GCP), middleware, enterprise systems, API management, infrastructure and databases would be highly advantageous
• Expertise or experience in payment security standards, including PCI-DSS compliance, data encryption, tokenization, and risk mitigation strategies will be highly advantageous
• Hands-on experience with software development methodologies such as DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline.
• Proven experience in leading software development projects and managing multiple development tracks.
• Ability to foster and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical team and business stakeholders while maintaining a high degree of professionalism across all levels.
