Job Summary:

An Educational Therapist is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs and between years old. This role involves developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with therapists of other disciplines and parents, and utilizing a variety of teaching methods to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The goal is to ensure that each student achieves their highest potential in their academic, social-emotional development and daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Individualized Education Programs (IEPs):

  • Develop, implement, and review IEPs tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals to ensure the IEPs are comprehensive and effective.
  • Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals and make necessary adjustments.

2. Instructional Planning and Delivery:

  • Design and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, and strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Implement assistive technology and adaptive equipment as needed to support student learning.

3. Classroom Management:

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support positive student behavior.
  • Foster social skills development and promote an inclusive classroom culture.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with general education teachers, aides, and other school staff to support inclusive education practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address concerns.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training related to special education.

5. Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct enrolment screenings to identify students' needs and measure their progress.
  • Use data to inform instruction and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required by school policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Additional certifications or prior experience in specific disability areas (e.g., Autism, Learning Disabilities) are a plus.
  • Fresh graduates may apply.
