This role supports the Chief Curator of the Singapore Art Museum at the intersection of institutional planning and executive administration. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, managing workflows, preparing briefings, supporting external relations, and handling logistics such as travel and scheduling.

The ideal candidate is intellectually agile, highly organised, discreet, and professional, with a strong curiosity for contemporary art and museum practice.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Curatorial Support

  2. Assist with research and information gathering, note-taking, and preparation of curatorial texts, and presentations;

  3. Track key timelines and deliverables across the Chief Curator's portfolio (exhibitions, acquisitions, programmes, etc.);
  4. Help prepare internal briefing notes, board materials, and reports, as requested;
  5. Sit in on meetings as needed and summarise action points.
  6. Executive & Logistical Support

  7. Manage scheduling of high-priority meetings across departments and with external stakeholders;

  8. Coordinate all aspects of the Chief Curator's travel and event attendance (visas, itineraries, transport, reimbursements);
  9. Maintain up-to-date records of contacts, ongoing threads, and institutional documents.
  10. Stakeholder Liaison & Communication

  11. Act as a point of contact for artists, curators, partners, and museum colleagues on select projects;

  12. Draft clear and professional correspondence, including meeting requests and follow-ups;
  13. Ensure timely responses and good information flow across moving parts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a museum, gallery, research, or executive support role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and research skills, with the ability to shift registers between internal and external communications.
  • Highly organised, discreet, and capable of handling sensitive information.
  • Curious about curatorial practice but comfortable with administrative detail.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Teams, and Excel, with some experience in travel logistics.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
