Relief Technician

UWCSEA Dover is looking for a Relief Technician to start as soon as possible.

The primary purpose and function of this role is to provide technical and design support to events, with a specific focus on sound and projection design. These events include Drama productions, Primary Arts Festivals, GC and other events as determined by the Head of Drama.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate  lighting and sound equipment during rehearsal and performances.
• Execute cues accurately and promptly as required.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure seamless transition during shows.
• Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of technical equipment,
• Assist with stage changes and stage management as needed.
• Maintain and manage the College's theatre resources, equipment and inventory, including maintenance of stores

Person Specifications

• Experience in theatre production with a strong understanding of running of stage cues.
• Proficient in operating lighting and sound systems would be a bonus, training will be provided.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast pace environment..
• Ability to work with appropriate document and spreadsheet software to effectively coordinate and plan is essential
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working with young people is a distinct advantage
• Enthusiasm for working with young people is essential
