Singapore NORSTAR SHIP MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Job Description

1.Monitor and ensure vessels' compliance with ISM/ISPS Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, CDI/SIRE inspections, flag state, port state, and other regulatory requirements.

2.Support vessels in safe operations, voyage planning, and meeting terminal, operator, charterer, and oil major requirements.

3.Monitor and follow up with vessels on voyage orders, tank cleaning, cargo care and risk management. Ensure that cargo and ballast procedures are properly implemented onboard and verify cargo and/or ballast plans for compliance with all safety aspects.

4.Support Master during vetting and third-party audits and inspections including SIRE, CDI, FSI, PSC.

5.Prepare initial responses to internal and third-party audits and inspections including SIRE, CDI, FSI, PSC and implement corrective actions.

6.Arrange and perform planned and ad hoc marine visits, audits, navigational audits, and behavioral safety assessments.

7.Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformities, and ensure timely reporting and implementation of corrective actions.

8.Provide marine-related input during dry-docking, repairs, and retrofitting projects.

9.Maintain effective communication with Charterers, Class Societies, Flag State Authorities, and other stakeholders.

Job Requirement

1.Class 1 (Master) Certificate of Competency

2.2 Years experience as Marine Superintendent, with Chemical experience in a ship management or shipping company.

3.2 years of sea-going experience as Master on board Chemical tanker vessels is preferred

4.Familiar with SIRE Vetting process

5.Knowledge of maritime rules and regulations, codes, guidelines, ISM/ISPS/MLC/TMSA/Oil Major requirements

6.Experience in conducting navigational audits, officer briefings, managing inspections, implementing safety initiatives, and contributing to incident investigations

7.Good spoken and written English communication skills

8.Analytical, results oriented and ability to lead, control and good interpersonal skills

9.Independent and resourceful to work under pressure to meet deadlines

10.Able to travel within short notice as required
