Job Summary

The planner is responsible for material planning and production planning. This role will manage the end-to-end flow of direct and indirect materials—issuing purchase orders, managing supplier performance, and expediting deliveries—while also developing and maintaining accurate production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and material availability. This role will play a critical role in ensuring on-time delivery, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, detail oriented, and have experience in sourcing, supplier management, inventory management, production planning and equipped with shipping knowledge including Incoterms.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Expedite deliveries to meet and exceed scheduled critical requirements.
  • Maintain materials plan at the time fence to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Coordinate with planners for solutions when parts cannot be delivered as promised.
  • Maintain and continuously evaluate supplier performance and escalate to supervisor when issues occur.
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.
  • Analyze material and capacity availability to provide customer promise dates for sales orders.
  • Maintains item master lead time information based upon process improvements, current constraints, and total current demand by product family, and priority information.
  • Initiates sourcing (e.g. RFPs and RFQs)
  • Review open requirements, monitoring supplier performance and expediting where necessary.  Ensure that problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the supplier and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Create and update production schedules based on orders and material availability.
  • Issue work orders and track progress to stay on schedule.
  • Adjust plans when demand, supply, or equipment changes.
  • Work with production teams to solve material shortages.

Basic Qualifications

·       Degree or Diploma with at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced environment.

·       Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and continuous improvement mindset.

·       Strong interpersonal skills and advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, Office 365.

·       Oracle experience is a plus.
