Cogent owns one of Singapore's largest one-stop integrated logistics hub, Cogent 1.Logistics Hub. It offers warehousing, freight forwarding, container and ISO tank depot, automotive logistics, and transportation services in Singapore. It also operates warehousing and container depot businesses in Malaysia.

Role Description

We are looking to hire a highly motivated and competent WSH professional to drive safety practices and initiatives in the organization. The person will be responsible for developing and implementing WSH policies, ensuring safety compliance with regulatory requirements, review risk assessment and supervise subordinates accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Appointed as Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) for the Cogent Holdings Pte Ltd Group of companies including Health, safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance
  • Responsible for the assessment, implementation of programs and the continued oversight and administration of current HSE programs
  • Act as Safety Case Lead; obtain MHI Certificates and be responsible for subsequent audits and renewals
  • Ensure that all HSE processes and procedures are implemented and standardized across Cogent Holdings Limited Group of companies facilities by providing leadership, training and support
  • Assist in all aspects of incident investigation including verifying the root cause and approving the implementation of preventive measures
  • Ensure that the emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place, including CERT audits, fire drills, training and regular update of written programs/plans
  • Implement and maintain environmental health and safety programs involving hazard identification, evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, emergency preparedness, fire/lift safety and environmental regulatory compliance including conducting regular inspection of work sites
  • Advise the operations department on work plan, Risk Assessment, Safe Work Procedures, etc. to ensure their compliance with the legal/regulatory requirements (e.g. WSH Act/Regulations, Fire Safety Act, SCDF requirements and etc.)
  • Manage external audits, renewal of all certifications and liaise with relevant authorities on safety related matters
  • Manage renewal audits for ISO 9001 / 14001 /45001
  • Person-In-Charge for licenses related to storage of diesel and chemical such as Qualitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and Petroleum & Flammable Material license (P&FM)

Requirements
- Degree in Workplace Safety & Health or related field of study
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in logistics industry
- Certified MOM WSHO; Certified FSM
- Competent in managing ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO45001 certifications
- Able to work well with cross-functional teams to drive safety practices across their entities / departments
- Good communication skills in verbal and written communication
