Location: FNP Cakes Pte Ltd, 7 Mandai Estate, #07-05, Singapore 729904

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: SGD 2,300 – 3,500 (based on experience & portfolio)

Work Schedule: 5-day work week (weekends may be required during peak seasons)

FNP Cakes is a leading international brand known for creative celebration cakes, now expanding in Singapore with a state-of-the-art production facility at Mandai. We specialise in custom cakes, premium fondant designs, and high-volume festive productions—combining creativity with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, sculpt, and decorate custom fondant and themed cakes, including 3D characters, figurines, and detailed toppers.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and clients (via the sales team) to interpret themes and deliver edible art aligned with FNP's design standards.
  • Prepare, colour, roll, and sculpt fondant and gum paste for intricate finishing.
  • Assemble, stack, and support multi-tiered cakes with proper structure for safe transport and delivery.
  • Apply smooth fondant coverings, textures, painting, airbrushing, and advanced piping techniques.
  • Maintain strict food hygiene and HACCP standards within the Mandai production unit.
  • Manage decorating inventory, tools, and materials; ensure readiness for daily orders.
  • Work efficiently during festive seasons (Christmas, Diwali, Mothers' Day, etc.) with tight turnaround times.
  • Support product development by proposing new designs, seasonal themes, and cake innovations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience in fondant cake artistry or custom cake decorating.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating 3D fondant character sculpting, themed cakes, and detailed design work.
  • Proficiency in fondant, gum paste, ganache, buttercream, and royal icing techniques.
  • Strong eye for detail, creativity, colour sense, and artistic finishing.
  • Experience working with cake decorating tools (cutters, moulds, sculpting tools, airbrush, turntables).
  • Understanding of Singapore food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to handle humid conditions and ensure fondant stability in Singapore's climate.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a fast-paced team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in pastry arts, baking, or cake decorating.
  • Experience in commercial bakeries or high-volume cake studios.
  • Background in producing themed cakes (cartoons, Disney, anime, etc.).
  • Digital or physical portfolio showing a variety of styles and complexity.
