Job Overview:We are looking for a Junior Baker / Pastry Cook to join our team. The role involves assisting in the daily preparation and baking of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts for large-scale meal production. Suitable for candidates who are passionate about baking and keen to grow their skills in a high-volume institutional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and baking breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries according to recipes.
- Support large-scale production for functions, buffets, and meal services.
- Maintain quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper hygiene of the work area and equipment.
- Assist in receiving and storing bakery ingredients properly.
- Follow all food safety and workplace safety procedures.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements:
- Some experience or training in baking/pastry preferred (fresh graduates welcome).
- Interest in large-scale catering or central kitchen production.
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to handle kitchen tasks.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate / Diploma in Baking & Pastry or Culinary Arts.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP standards.
