At Xtremax, this role supports government partner agencies in managing and securing critical government data centre facilities. As a Data Centre Operations Support professional, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of infrastructure, physical security, and IT systems. This role requires hands-on monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient data centre environment that supports essential government services. Candidates with public sector experience are preferred, as this role supports IT projects for government agencies.
Responsibility:
Infrastructure Management
- Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure, including power systems (UPS, PDUs), cooling systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Conduct regular environmental monitoring checks (temperature, humidity, water leakage).
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for infrastructure issue resolution.
- Support facility maintenance activities and equipment installations.
- Maintain proper cable management and facility organisation.
- Ensure facility cleanliness and operational readiness.
Physical Security
- Monitor and manage access control systems and CCTV operations.
- Handle visitor management and escort duties.
- Maintain accurate security logs and access records.
- Ensure compliance with physical security policies.
- Report and escalate security incidents or anomalies.
IT Operations
- Monitor IT systems health and performance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and system administration tasks.
- Support backup operations and disaster recovery procedures.
- Process service requests and provide incident management support.
- Assist with change management activities.
- Monitor security alerts and perform basic security checks.
- Support user access management.
- Lead incident coordination during critical outages or environmental risks (humidity, water leakage, etc.).
- Participate in government-wide Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) exercises.
- Serve as the first line of operational support for agencies hosting workloads in government data centres.
- Provide advisory on operational readiness, audit preparations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date facility layout and infrastructure records.
- Update system and operational documentation.
- Track IT and infrastructure assets.
- Log activities, incidents, and resolutions.
- Generate regular operational and maintenance reports.
- Keep all maintenance records accurate and current.
Requirements
Must Have
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Facilities Management, or related field.
- Must have 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in IT operations or data centre operations.
- Good understanding of infrastructure systems and IT operations.
- Knowledge of security principles and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergencies when required.
Good to Have:
- Experience with Singapore Government Project will be advantageous.
Certificate Preferred:
- ITIL Foundation
- Data Centre Operations certification
- Basic IT infrastructure certifications
- Security awareness certification
