About R&D for Embedded Systems, Mobility Rail (MRL)

Our team specializes in the development of advanced Embedded Systems for Intelligent Transportation Systems for Smart Metro. Our Smart Metro solutions include Audio & Video Intercoms, Public Address Amplifiers, Passenger Information Displays, and Video Surveillance technologies.

Position: Senior Principal Software Engineer (System Architect)

Department: Mobility Rail (MRL Corporate)

Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. With over 20 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and designing embedded systems from concept to finished product. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the development process, ensuring the delivery of innovative and high-quality solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and design of embedded systems, from initial concept through to final product delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive system specifications and design documents.
  • Ability to program the Application Software to the low-level Firmware Drivers.
  • Oversee the integration of software and hardware components, to ensure functionality.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and expertise.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design, code, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and quality assurance, to deliver robust and reliable products.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in embedded systems and incorporate cutting-edge technologies into designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, by providing innovative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards throughout the development.
  • Manage development partners and vendors.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Systems or a related field.
  • Over 20 years of experience in embedded systems development, with a strong focus on system architecture and design.
  • Extensive knowledge of embedded software development, including proficiency in C, C++, Python and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with embedded operating systems (OS) like Linux, real-time operating systems (RTOS) like QNX and non-OS programming.
  • Deep understanding of microprocessors (ARM A-Core) and microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and neural processing would be an added advantage.
  • Familiar with hardware interfaces like RS232, Ethernet LAN, CAN Bus, I2C, I2S etc
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept, prototyping to completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, to mentor the team members.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in embedded systems design and development.
