A general cleaner maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene of various facilities by performing routine tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal . Key responsibilities include cleaning floors, surfaces, windows, and restrooms, restocking supplies, and adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

  • Floor Care :Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in offices, hallways, common areas, and restrooms to remove dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Surface Cleaning :Dusting and wiping down all surfaces, including desks, shelves, furniture, and partitions, to keep them clean and sanitary.
  • Restroom Maintenance :Cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and countertops, and ensuring essential supplies like soap and paper towels are stocked.
  • Waste Disposal :Emptying trash bins, replacing liners, and managing recycling to maintain a clean and odor-free environment.
  • Window and Mirror Cleaning :Cleaning interior and exterior windows and mirrors, ensuring they are streak-free.
  • Supply Management :Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies, such as cleaning solutions and paper products.
  • Safety and Compliance :Adhering to health and safety guidelines, company policies, and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Work Environment

  • Settings :General cleaners work in various environments, including offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, and homes.
  • Schedule :Many cleaners work during non-operational hours, such as early mornings or evenings, to ensure facilities are clean and ready for use by the time people arrive.
