We are seeking a dedicated and interdisciplinary scientist to join a transformative research initiative aimed at developing next-generation chemo-sensing platforms. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of solid-state, surface-based electrochemical sensors for real-time detection of solid-phase analytes on skin and other complex surfaces. This role offers a unique opportunity to translate strong electrochemical fundamentals into wearable health monitoring technologies with real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrochemical sensing interfaces tailored for fluid-free detection of solid-state analytes, including skin-emitted metabolites.
- Engineer adhesive interfacial layers and hybrid materials to support stable, selective, and sensitive solid-surface chemo-sensing.
- Integrate electrochemical systems with in-situ and ex-situ characterization methods (e.g., SEM, XPS, in-situ XRD) to study sensor performance and degradation mechanisms.
- Contribute to system-level optimization of sensor signal quality and environmental stability.
- Prepare research publications, progress reports, and participate in interdisciplinary discussions with collaborators.
- Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to high-quality scientific publications and conference presentations.
- Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.
- Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
- Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related disciplines.
- Strong experimental background in electrochemical system design, electrode/electrolyte interface engineering, and battery or sensor fabrication.
- Demonstrated experience in in-situ/ex-situ characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, Cryo-TEM, XPS, XRD).h.D. in Physical Chemistry, Nanoscience, Materials Science, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to design and fabricate device prototypes for innovative applications.
- Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
- Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
