We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer specializing in ship repair and ship refit. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the maritime industry and possess strong project management and technical skills. This role involves managing repair and refit projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

1. Project Management:

  • Manage ship repair and ship refit projects, from planning through execution and delivery.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.

2. Technical Expertise:

  • Oversee progress and technical requirements for repair and refit projects.
  • Interpret technical drawings, design documents, and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and suggestion to production teams during execution.

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all ship repair and refit work adheres to established quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and classification requirements.
  • Address quality issues promptly with effective corrective actions.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant maritime regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals and certifications.

5. Communication and Coordination:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to management and clients.
  • Facilitate problem-solving discussions to address challenges and maintain progress.

6. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks to project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to reduce impact.
  • Monitor risks and adapt plans as needed to maintain project success.

Qualifications:

  • Min. of Diploma in marine engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ship repair or refit project engineering.
  • Strong understanding of ship repair processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Proficient in project management with a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Singaporean
  • Familiarity with High-speed craft systems and operational requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with regulatory authorities and international clients.
  • Completion of SRM (Shipbuilding and Repair Management) course is an advantage.
