Roles:Analyze current Customers' system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvementCreate end-to-end high level solutions to meet overall network requirements and product specific business needsWork closely within the team to understand stakeholder requirements, developing high quality, architecturally sound systems that align with business needsEstablishing technical standards and drive overall solution architectures, engineering practices and methodologiesDevelop business logic with measureable outcomesResponsibilities:Responsible for architecting the next generation IP and data transport network architecture leveraging networking experienceInterpret requirements and aligning these to business and technology strategies, policies and enterprise architecturesDevelop the infrastructure architecture considering service level, availability, continuity, suppliers, security and capacity management requirementsIdentify opportunities to apply technology trends and innovatively apply these trends to solve business and technical problemsImproved business flexibility delivered via a clear framework, defined structure, and standards. improve availability, reliability and security of mission critical servicesCommunicate complex multi-discipline technology problems and recommended solutions to a diverse audienceLead or participate in the creation and evaluation of tenders, developing and presenting recommendations to stakeholders for approvalMentor, assist and plan technical training of engineers and colleaguesCreate and update service documentation regularly for new features, security or business requirementsRequirements:Tertiary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related fieldOver five years' experience in the same or related role (project management experience is a plus)Understanding of protocols to implement IP Networks and transport networks including BGP, MPLS and OSPF Understanding of network function virtualization (NFV)Understanding of software defined networking (SDN) including OpenFlow, Netconf, YANG, PCEP etcExperience at identifying strengths and weaknesses of different technologies and architecturesExperience in architecting IP and data transport telecommunications networksUnderstand the standardization process employed in the industry and the nature of standards bodiesStrong understanding of various software architectures (Web, Cloud, Integration) and methodologiesExperience with Enterprise Architecture best practice and goals (recognized EA certification is a plus)Self-Starter with strong sense of responsibility, initiative, urgency and commitmentExcellent verbal communication and presentation skills are essentialHighly organized with exception creativity and management skills
