About the role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Matic Engineering & Process Pte Ltd. As a Safety Coordinator (Construction), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our employees and worksite operations. This full-time position is based in the North Region and will involve overseeing safety compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across our construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
  2. Implementing and monitoring safety policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  3. Providing safety training and toolbox talks to educate workers on safe work practices
  4. Investigating incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  5. Collaborating with project teams to develop and maintain safe work plans and method statements
  6. Maintaining accurate safety records and documentation as per company and regulatory requirements
  7. Promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging safe behavior among all personnel on site

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar construction safety role
  2. Thorough understanding of workplace safety and health regulations, including the Workplace Safety and Health Act
  3. Proficient in conducting risk assessments, JSAs and safety audits
  4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to quickly address safety concerns
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  6. Proactive and dedicated approach to promoting a safe work environment
  7. Relevant safety certifications such as WSQ Workplace Safety and Health Officer or NEBB Certified Technician
