Job DescriptionThe jobholder is Responsible for the evaluation, coordination, implementation and maintenance of designated projects and systems, which enhances the organizational function of Nursing Services and promotes efficiency in nursing practices and safe resident care.
- Develop the nursing information management system along resident's journey in our nursing home settings.
- Assist/lead the development of clinical workflows and SOPs with best practices in mind. Serves as trainer and mentor as the team grows.
- Lead all clinical staff across the nursing home system in the specialty area of nursing informatics.
- Attend IT and / or workgroup meetings as designated and report assigned project status as appropriate.
- Complete status report to effectively communicate status of each project to the nursing management team, project managers and nursing staff when needed.
- Lead in reporting hardware, software, and password related issues to the IT team following the established escalation process and update the end - users of the status.
- Develop and revise informatics policies and procedures based on system design, workflow and input from end user.
- Serve as a clinical informatics Leader, collaborate with ECTC for initial and on-going training and competency validation for all clinical information systems as directed.
- Serve as a resource for the daily operational issues of the nursing home's clinical system applications.
- Document current processes to establish a baseline for developmental improvements of future workflows. Analyzes, recommends and assists with implementing new and improved processes and workflows.
- Perform post-implementation monitoring to assess system usage and user acceptance. Provides feedback and assistance in any system enhancement requests.
- Lead in the development and maintenance of integration test scripts and participates in all testing events or coordinates clinical resources to participate in testing events.
- Provide clinical expertise related to advanced technology for Nursing Services including assessment, evaluation, and education related to the implementation of new technology and procedures.
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring the analysis, design implementation, evaluation and maintenance of assigned clinical informatics application and projects.
- Lead the process of exploring emerging roles, technologies and models of nursing informatics practices, and translates initiatives into products, strategy and patient care direction.
- Act as Nursing Administrative liaison to facilitate coordination of nursing related services.
- Assume any other additional responsibilities as assigned by reporting officer.
- Provide orientation, coaching and training related to nursing informatics for all existing and newly recruited staff.
- Provide timely submissions of appropriate report to the respective departments.
Requirements
- At least a Bachelor Science Degree in Nursing with valid RN license.
- Preferably to have degree in Nursing Information technology or Health Sciences.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct acute care/clinical experiences.
- Strong interest and experience in Healthcare Information Technology, including selection and implementation of healthcare information systems.
- Skilled in IT project management support — process selection, implementation, user support, and maintaining project documentation.
- Knowledgeable in nursing informatics, clinical workflow optimization, and performance improvement to support nursing practice.
- Demonstrated ability in resource utilization, budget planning, and managing multiple projects with effective prioritization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and participation in nursing-related research activities.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence and secure buy-in across all levels.
- Collaborative team player with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and resourceful in achieving goals.
- At least a Bachelor Science Degree in Nursing with valid RN license.
- Preferably to have degree in Nursing Information technology or Health Sciences.
