We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and review mechanical systems and automated machines for global projects. The role involves extensive use of SolidWorks, close collaboration with customers, and international travel to support project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, tools, and controls using SolidWorks and CAD tools.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of drawings, bills of materials, purchase requisitions, and quality checks according to project schedules.
  • Conduct design reviews to evaluate technical specifications, sketches, and related data, ensuring optimal design solutions.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers to define project requirements and specifications, and present progress updates.
  • Oversee internal and customer reviews on project design and development milestones.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, debugging, and customer acceptance stages.
  • Prepare technical reports, manuals, and documentation to support project execution.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, including assembly diagrams, wiring schematics, and work instructions.
  • Determine optimal manufacturing methods, techniques, and procedures to ensure design performance.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve technical requirements and issues during the design process.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related fields.
  • 1–3 years of experience in designing automated machines or material handling systems.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and skilled in precision technical drawing and modelling.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, production techniques, and related technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and engage with customers on technical specifications.
  • Effective communication skills for team discussions and meetings.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conversant in Mandarin and/or Tamil to support overseas operations.
  • Willingness to undertake 3 months of technical training in China.
  • Prepared to travel to China, India, and other Southeast Asian countries for project support.
