ING in Asia Pacific

In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

ING offers both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. ING's regional presence includes a 13% stake in Bank of Beijing, China and a 30% stake in TMBThanachart Bank in Thailand.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING's Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the Sustainable Solutions Group do in ING?

Sustainability is deeply embedded in ING as is evidenced through our globally leading positions in the Sustainable Finance market and our Terra strategy to align our complete loan portfolio with the Paris Climate Agreement. The Sustainable Solutions Group is mandated to help clients with their funding needs for their net zero transition. Part of a leading global Sustainable Solutions Group, the Asia Pacific team is based in Singapore and provides sustainable financing solutions (such as green/social bonds and loans, sustainability linked loans, etc.), coupled with in-depth sector epertise to our clients in the Asia Pacific region.

What would you be doing?

• Assist in originating, structuring, and eecuting Sustainable Finance transactions:
• Prepare pitchbooks and other relevant materials for conferences, workshops, webinars, etc
• Structure green/social/sustainable financing frameworks, sustainability linked financing products, etc.
• Perform analysis on eligibility of green/social assets, ESG ratings of companies
• Research and analyse corporate sustainability disclosure and sector specific developments
• Assist in reviewing and gathering intelligence on sustainable finance markets (loan and bond) and updating regulatory developments
• Assist in data etraction, management, and manipulation from ESG databases and reports
• Any other sustainable finance related tasks that may arise

What qualities and skills are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:

• Post or undergraduate in any discipline, specializing in environmental sustainability, economics, finance, data science, social science, and/or technology related subjects
• Keen interest in leveraging the financial markets to create positive enviromental and social impact
• Candidates with prior internship or research eperience in sustainability, ESG, data science, capital markets, and/or corporate banking are preferred
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Powerpoint, Ecel, and Word
• Eperience in data management and related programming tools will be a plus
• A good team player who is analytical, detail-oriented, organized and systematic
• Ecellent communication skills with a can-do attitude
• Fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge in other Asian languages, in particular Mandarin
