Solution Architect

Job Description:

The appointed candidate will be an integral member supporting the regional sales team and working closely with Viavi's strategic customers and industry experts, based out of Singapore.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility for on-time scoping and delivery of Solutions and Automation projects.
• Scope and monitor the execution of various activities and coordinate any changes.
• Work with Sales and Engineering to define the solution proposal.
• Coordinate activities of the project team (internal and external vendors) and the customer from inception through successful completion.
• Identify, analyze, and respond to project risks as they occur.
• Lead quality acceptance activities for each of the project milestones.
• Ensure tasks are constantly updated to reflect actual project status.
• Convey plans, issues, and concerns to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear, logical and concise manner.
• Influence peers and colleagues at the next level both internally and externally.
• Provides coaching and professional development to company's members.
• Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
• Provides training to customers when needed.
• Participate in conferences, shows, exhibitions when appropriate and requested.
• Follows and shares market technological needs and evolution with Product Line Managers.
• This position includes frequent travel to customers' premises.

Pre-Requisites / Skills Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years technical experience in the Telecommunications/Data Communications industry.
• At least 10 years or more experience in scripting (Python, TCL, Pearl, Java).
• Experience delivering technology solutions to the NEMS and Service Providers.
• Quoting/Estimation experience is a plus.
• A strong demonstrable record of customer service. This role will need to understand customer needs and build effective relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Competitive spirit with a commitment to winning.
• Will need to be able to partially travel to customers.
• Ability to learn new technologies related to a wide range of application layer testing including storage, media and web technologies.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Internet technologies including firewalls, web applications, server load balancers, caches, IPS/IDS sensors, remote access (IPSec, SSL VPN) devices as well as anti-malware solutions.
• Knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud services.
• Established expertise in some of the following networking Routing and Switching protocols and application protocols and their extensions.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the employees of the company.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree / master's degree in computer science, Electronics, telecommunications, or equivalent 12 years related experience.
• At least 5-8 years' experience in customer-facing activities environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
