Job Description
CenTRAL is committed to improving cure rates for children with blood cancers in Singapore and across the region through cutting-edge clinical research and outreach programmes.
We conduct several multi-centre clinical trials that require molecular diagnostic testing for both pre-screening patient eligibility and monitoring treatment response. These actionable molecular laboratory tests play a critical role in guiding treatment decisions and interventions, as outlined in our trial protocols. Our clinical laboratory services are licensed under the Ministry of Health (MOH) Healthcare Services Act - Clinical Laboratory Services.
In addition to supporting clinical trials, we extend these diagnostic services to patients not enrolled in any clinical trial. CenTRAL also runs regional outreach programmes focused on childhood cancer, helping to raise cure rates by providing access to our clinical laboratory testing.
We operate a satellite tissue bank to store leftover cells for future research, with informed consent from patients. This is conducted in compliance with the Human Tissue Framework, under the umbrella of Human Biomedical Research.
We are inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant to support our programmes in delivering transformative medicine to improve cures in children with cancers. You will be part of a dynamic team supporting clinical trials and research studies that have direct impact on patient care.
Qualifications
a) Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, specialising in molecular cell biology or biomedical sciences with good honours.
b) Working experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory preferred, otherwise, we provide on the job training for fresh graduates.
c) Adaptive to changing work roles
d) Local resident of Singapore
Appointment Terms:
Initial appointment will be on a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance. Remuneration commensurate with the candidate's relevant qualifications and experience.
