Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs.

Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.

Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

1) Daily Operations

·       Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers

·       Process medication orders/prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient

·       Picking, packing and labelling in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures

·       Perform billing functions

·       Ensures work area is ready for daily operations

·       Maintains the cleanliness of the pharmacy and ward areas where drugs are stored

·       Involvement in workplace quality improvement projects/activities as and when required

2) Inventory Management

·       Ensures stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) requirement and stipulated storage condition

·       Performs topping up of stock in the respective wards

·       Ensures correct receiving of goods

·       Secondary repackaging/redressing

·       Carry out cycle counts and stock takes periodically according to SOPs

3) Dispensing

·       Dispensing of medications to patients in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures

Requirements

·       Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science

·       Completed Basic Skill Test OR Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC)

·       Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department

·       Able to communicate effectively

·       Able to function effectively as member of a team

·       Flexibility to work on weekends/ public holidays occasionally
