Job description:

Responsibilities

Providing legal advice and support to PaxOcean in the shipyard trade developments, investment and operations, including:

• Advising on legal and regulatory aspects on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters / projects;
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal and transactional documentation such as newbuilding contracts, conversion contracts, repair contracts, recycling and module fabrication contracts, joint venture agreements, leases, vendor and commercial contracts etc.;
• Providing legal support for the operational requirements of the shipyard business, including advising, reviewing, and drafting of contracts with suppliers and vendors etc.;
• Providing legal support for overseas investments, overseeing processes, reviewing and advising on all transactional documents, liaising with external parties involved;
• Advising on regulatory and compliance matters;
• Applying for and maintaining relevant licences where required.
• Co-ordinating with the corporate secretarial team on matters such as, preparing board papers, resolutions
• Engaging and managing external lawyers where required

Requirements

• Core competencies include: strategic thinking, negotiation, organization, complex drafting, working in cross-functional teams, attention to detail and ability to work efficiently and effectively
• Possess working knowledge of shipyards, engineering, procurement, fabrication, procurement, tax, environmental law, employment and labor law, real estate, antitrust, intellectual property, anti-corruption, commercial law and more
• Able to work independently yet a team player
• Singapore / UK - qualified
• Minimum 10 years PQE
