Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Master Data Steward
to manage, govern, and improve the quality of master data across key domains in Vendor and Customer Master Data. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and external regulations. A strong focus will be placed on
leading or supporting master data improvement projects
as part of digital transformation, ERP upgrades, or ongoing data quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and govern master data across domains (Vendor and Customer) within ERP and other enterprise systems.
  • Monitor and enforce data quality standards, policies, and business rules.
  • Support master data lifecycle processes including creation, updates, and deletions.
  • Analyze and cleanse master data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Participate in or lead
    master data improvement projects
    , including data migration, enrichment, deduplication, and harmonization.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data owners to understand data needs and ensure alignment with business processes.
  • Define and document data standards, naming conventions, and business rules.
  • Support audits, reporting, and compliance efforts related to data governance.
  • Track and report data quality metrics and KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data governance frameworks and tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Master Data Steward or similar role.
  • Proven experience in
    data cleansing and master data improvement projects
    , preferably within an ERP environment (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience working in cross-functional project teams, including involvement in ERP implementations, upgrades, or data governance initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of master data domains and their impact on business processes.
  • Hands-on experience with data management tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP MDG, S/4HANA, Oracle, Informatica, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to document data standards and maintain data dictionaries.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX) is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) or similar MDM solutions.
  • Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., DAMA CDMP) is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies in data projects.
