The opportunity

The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore is seeking a talented Commis to join the team at our Republic Kitchen. As a Commis, you will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, contributing to the overall culinary excellence of our renowned hotel.

Key responsibilities

1. Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
2. Ensure that all food preparation and cooking tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
3. Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards
4. Assist with the inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies as needed
5. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously improve culinary skills
6. Collaborate with the wider culinary team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests

What we're looking for

1. Formal training or certification in culinary arts or a related field
2. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar Commis or entry-level culinary role
3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
4. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
5. Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with the wider culinary team
6. Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to continuously learn and develop culinary skills
