Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Director to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work closely with clients and internal teams to lead the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, media, creative, and content.

This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, strong client relationship management, commercial oversight, and team mentorship. As an Strategic Account Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring client satisfaction, growing key accounts, and shaping the agency's ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership & Client Advisory

  2. Serve as a trusted strategic consultant to senior client stakeholders across local and regional markets, guiding them on integrated digital marketing solutions that drive business impact.

  3. Manage complex conversations around marketing direction, budgets, contracts, and long-term growth.
  4. Set and manage client expectations, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and long-term success.

  5. Integrated Campaign Oversight

  6. Oversee the planning and execution of integrated campaigns across digital media, creative production, social media, and web development.

  7. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across departments and timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.

  8. Project & Financial Management

  9. Maintain ownership of project scopes, budgets, and resource allocation across key accounts.

  10. Ensure project costing accurately reflects delivery requirements, and monitor financial performance to optimise margins.
  11. Proactively solve issues and support internal teams in navigating delivery challenges.

  12. Business Development & Account Growth

  13. Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through strategic upselling and cross-selling of agency services.

  14. Lead the development of proposals, translating client needs into actionable and commercially viable solutions.
  15. Work closely with internal teams to craft compelling pitch narratives.

  16. Team Leadership & Mentorship

  17. Manage and mentor the Account Team, supporting their growth and ensuring high performance.

  18. Foster a collaborative team environment, leading by example with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  19. Resolve conflicts constructively and support team members in delivering their best work.

  20. Digital Strategy, Insights & Innovation

  21. Provide strategic input across digital marketing, media, creative, and content campaigns, leveraging data and insights to drive performance.

  22. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to bring innovative thinking to clients and the agency.
  23. Collaborate with departments such as SEO, UI/UX, data analytics, and tech to shape forward-thinking digital strategies.

Experience and Attributes

  • 7+ years in a digital, media, or creative agency, with proven experience in managing large-scale, integrated campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong working knowledge of digital marketing channels including, media, content, social, and web – able to connect the dots across strategy and execution.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills, with a collaborative and growth-oriented mindset for both people and projects.
  • Clear and confident communicator, with experience navigating complex client dynamics.
  • Highly organised, commercially minded, and confident in managing budgets, timelines, and team resources.
  • Solution-oriented and adaptable, able to remain calm and focused in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Open-minded and continuously learning, with an interest in evolving alongside client needs and industry trends.
