Laboratory Technical Officer

Monitor daily laboratory activities, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Prepare and conduct tests on Construction Materials such as Steel and Concrete in accordance with relevant international standards.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance in all laboratory operations.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Ensure good housekeeping.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.
  • Provide mentoring and training to laboratory technicians.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the reporting engineer or manager.

Requirements:

  • At least NITEC or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Good understanding of laboratory practices, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with SAC-Singlas ISO 17025.
  • Able to operate basic machinery.
  • Willing to commit to OT, if required.
  • Proficient in oral and written English.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, equipment and machinery used in the preparation of samples.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and methodologies.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to coordinate and work as a team towards common goals.
  • Demonstrates judgment and adherence to SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
