Scope of Work:

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. The role covers electrical, plumbing, mechanical, general area cleaning and building works to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance. Duties include upkeep of centre cleanliness, troubleshooting breakdowns, carrying out routine inspections, maintaining records, and responding promptly to emergency repairs. The officer also ensures preventive maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime and extend asset life.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools like multimeters and thermal imaging to identify faults.
  • May be involved in installing and maintaining other electrical components like circuit breakers and transformers.
  • Assisting with routine maintenance on air conditioning systems (cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels), troubleshooting basic AC problems, and potentially assisting with installations.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance of building facilities, including general cleaning, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment servicing.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in good condition, following safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • May be required to prepare simple facility and maintenance reports.
  • Drive to various centres to attend to and resolve reported faults, breakdowns, and urgent maintenance requests.
  • Perform general maintenance works including electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and repair tasks at assigned centres
  • Carry out scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance across multiple sites to ensure facilities are in good working condition.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC / in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in facilities or equipment maintenance.
  • Hands-on skills in electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, and general repair works are essential.
  • Previous experience in cleaning industry and upkeep duties will be considered an added advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure all work complies with workplace safety, health, and building regulations.
  • Willing to work independently or in a team, with flexibility for emergency call-ins or weekend duties if required.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with internal staff and external contractors.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and a good team player.
  • Possessing a valid Class 3 driving license with over 5 years of driving experience are preferred, though those without a license are also welcome to apply.
