Catastrophe Analyst

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Catastrophe Analyst to join their Singapore team on a 2-year contract. The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, focusing on catastrophe risk modelling, exposure management, and portfolio analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform catastrophe risk modelling and exposure analysis using industry-standard tools and software.
• Evaluate natural peril risks (e.g. flood, earthquake, typhoon) and their impact on insurance portfolios.
• Support the underwriting and pricing process by providing risk insights and analytics.
• Prepare exposure and loss analysis reports for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and risk management teams to ensure robust risk assessment.
• Contribute to projects aimed at improving data quality, modelling processes, and reporting efficiency.
• Stay updated on developments in catastrophe risk modelling, climate change impacts, and regulatory requirements.

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in catastrophe modelling, risk analytics, or data analysis (internships may be considered).
• Familiarity with catastrophe modelling platforms (e.g., RMS, AIR, or similar) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or other data tools is a plus.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with ability to work in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
