Speech Language Pathologist 

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking an Speech Language Pathologist to join our Schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Speech and Language Services

  • Evaluate students' speech, language, and communication skills using standardized assessments and informal measures.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address identified needs.
  • Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services, 5 days per week, in alignment with IEPs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and related service providers to integrate speech and language goals into classroom settings.
  • Conduct evaluations and screenings for referred students as needed.

Special Education Case Management (as assigned)

  • Serve as case manager for a caseload of students with IEPs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring parental participation and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications based on student progress.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations related to special education services.

Collaboration & Consultation

  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers and families to support student communication needs.
  • Participate actively in Child Study Team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing communication with families, including quarterly progress reports.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation, therapy logs, and service records in accordance with school, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Complete and submit all required reports and data collection in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist Certification and/or Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility).
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to special education and speech-language pathology.
  • Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
