Job Summary

We are a private eye clinic providing comprehensive care for a full range of eye conditions. Currently, we are seeking an experiencedOptician to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality eye care to our patients, working closely with our ophthalmologist. You will contribute to both the clinical and operational aspects of the practice, helping to ensure a seamless patient experience and the continued excellence of our services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Refraction & Vision Testing

• Perform refraction (determine the correct prescription for glasses)

• Conduct basic vision tests, such as visual acuity, stereoacuity and colour vision

• Work with patients who are typically stable and aged 8+

2. Eyewear & Prescription Management

• Advise patients on suitable frames and lenses

• Fit, adjust, and repair spectacles

• Explain proper care and use of glasses or contact lenses

3. Patient Interaction & Education

• Explain the results of refraction tests to patients

• Provide guidance on lens options (single vision, progressive, blue-light filter, etc.)

• Teach patients about basic eye care practices

4. Support for the Ophthalmologist/Optometrist

• Prepare patients for eye examinations

• Performing simple eye investigations (e.g., tonometry for IOP measurement)

• Help with patient flow, registration, and clerical tasks

5. Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions issued

• Manage inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies

• Handle payments related to eyewear and services

• Handle public enquiries via phone, fax, email, doctor referrals, and walk-in patients

• Welcome and register patients upon arrival

• Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow

• Assist patients with medical claims and insurance documentation and application

● Coordinate and schedule appointments and surgeries for patients

• Perform registration and cashier duties

• Assist with eye screening and diagnostic tests

• Support the ophthalmologist during consultations and procedures

• Perform general administrative and clinic upkeep duties

Job Requirements

• Optician Certificate from the Singapore Optometrists and Opticians Board (OOB)

• At least 1 year of experience for performing refraction to individuals who are eight years old and above

• High level of integrity and professionalism

• Proficiency in English with either Mandarin or Malay/ Indonesian is essential

• Greater years of relevant experience will attract a higher salary

• Able to work independently and proactively

• Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills

• Passionate, Friendly, Patient, and Cheerful Disposition

Working Hours:

5.5 days work week (Saturdays mornings and some weeknight shifts are required)
