Regional EHS Specialist

EHS Management & Compliance
Implement and enforce EHS policies, safety management systems, and safe work procedures.
- Prepare safety-related documents including Safety Work Method Statements, Emergency Response Plans, HIRARC, and other statutory submissions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act 1967, USECHH 2000, DOSH, CIDB rules, and client safety standards.
Promote safety awareness and ensure proper execution of site safety regulations.
Training, Awareness & PPE Control
Conduct EHS training, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and safety inductions for new workers.
- Lead safety promotion activities and ensure PPE is properly issued, used, and documented.
Maintain training records, PPE distribution logs, and employee safety files.
Site Inspections & Safety Patrols
Conduct daily site safety patrols, identify hazards, stop unsafe acts, and ensure corrective measures are taken.
- Issue Safety Rectification Notices for major hazards and ensure timely close-out.
Participate in safety audits, fire drills, emergency response exercises, and contractor coordination meetings.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain complete and accurate EHS documentation including:
Daily safety logs
- Safety diaries
- Weekly & monthly safety reports
- HIRARC & JHA records
- Incident/accident reports
Assist in preparing reports for clients, management, DOSH, and CIDB.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with clients, main contractors, and subcontractors on all safety requirements.
- Assist subcontractors in applying for work permits and ensuring compliance with the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
Participate in safety coordination meetings and support project teams in safety planning.
Emergency Preparedness & Incident Response
Develop targeted emergency response plans and conduct periodic drills (fire, evacuation, rescue).
Respond to incidents and assist in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and improvement actions.
Other Duties
Perform any additional EHS-related tasks assigned by management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site safety performance
Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in fire engineering, fire protection systems, or related EHS fields.
- Strong knowledge of international fire protection and EHS standards and regulations, including NFPA, ISO 45001, and local fire and safety laws.
- Practical experience in emergency response and handling fire safety incidents.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, strong initiative and sense of responsibility, and good teamwork spirit.
- Language requirements: English (required); Chinese (preferred).
