Head of Nursing provides leadership and management oversight to the nursing department in care provision matters. He/ She provides support and assistance to the CEO/ Administrator in maintaining the standards of nursing practice; ensure that safe, high quality, efficient and cost effective clinical care is delivered to clients.
He/ She is responsible for translating the strategic vision to business unit-level strategies that must be aligned with organisational priorities.
Operationally, s/he
is responsible for managing nursing manpower, financial and training resources and deploying nurses to meet areas of service needs.
oversees the daily activities within Allium Care Suites (ACS) and Allium Care Studios and Home-based nursing care, ensures everything operates as planned.
oversees the performance of nursing practice and departmental key performance indicators.
leads a culture of continuous improvement in nursing quality, productivity and innovation.
oversees succession planning for identified high-potential nursing staff to take up key leadership position.
Essential Functions
Organize, direct and coordinate medical, nursing and health services in compliance with the relevant government regulations and policies.
Supervise the nursing staff and overseeing client care as well as administrative functions such as record keeping and budgeting.
acts as the closest link between the Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP), nurses and Allium management to ensure that all the Registered Nurses (RNs), Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Care Concierges (CCs) offer the best possible support to the RMP in providing care to clients. The support may include retrieving client information, observing the clients based on the Registered Medical Physician's instructions and providing the right diagnostic tools.
Responsibilities and duties:
Disseminate AH's mission, vision and goals
Operationalizes the Care Suites' goals and objectives;
Provides leadership and oversight in the planning, development, coordination and evaluation of nursing services.
Provides leadership to the team of registered and enrolled nurses, care concierges.
Assists the CEO/ Administrator in identifying clinical service opportunities, new programmes for the clients and special projects to meet service needs.
Works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary care providers to accommodate trends in residential nursing care and improving care delivery.
Promotes interdepartmental working relationship to enhance cooperation and collaboration to deliver positive care and service experience.
Ensures standardization of developmental framework for clinical practice, and education across all wards.
Operationalizes and monitors smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic and back to community where possible.
10. Ensure appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services
11. Ensures cost effective service and optimal outcomes are maintained and/or enhanced
12. Be responsible for ultimate client satisfaction
Secondary responsibilities and duties
Promotes evidence-based practices on nursing care delivery.
Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically.
