Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented NPI Engineer to join our team in the precision engineering sector. The NPI Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to achieve the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, advanced manufacturing techniques, and a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Process Development and Implementation
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for new products and optimize existing processes to improve quality and efficiency.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for manufacturing projects.
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
- Create detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Transfer process knowledge to production teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase productivity.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address process deficiencies.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the quality team to develop and implement quality control plans.
- Participate in internal and external audits and address any findings related to manufacturing processes.
Technical Support
- Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve process performance.
- Train and mentor production staff on new processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to identify and implement new technologies and equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Position Requirements
- Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience Level Requirements : Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the precision engineering sector.
Skills Desired:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment used in precision engineering.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, ideally SolidWorks, MasterCam and other engineering tools.
- Knowledge of technical drawings and BOM.
- Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements applicable to precision engineering.
