As a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Microbiology), you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring specimens are prioritised, assessed, and processed appropriately.
- Optimise workflow to meet departmental performance targets.
- Supervise staff performing tests and releasing results.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Report, investigate, and support corrective actions for all lab incidents.
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain strong proficiency in laboratory information systems and related software.
- Oversee calibration, quality control, validation, and external quality assurance activities.
- Train, assess, and supervise laboratory technologists and other relevant personnel.
- Handle documentation, general lab duties, issue escalation, and additional assignments from lab management.
Requirements:
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory (Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Haematology / Blood Transfusion) with leadership or supervisory experience
- ASCPi certificate is advantageous
