Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain relational and distributed database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, HDFS) across multiple environments.
  • Configure databases, implement replication and backup strategies to ensure high availability and data integrity.
  • Contribute to database design discussions by providing guidance on schema design, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
  • Optimize queries and perform performance tuning to enhance overall system efficiency.
  • Support data ingestion and integration pipelines with modern frameworks such as Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, GraphDB, or VectorDB.
  • Monitor and resolve database performance or operational issues, escalating complex cases when required.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.
  • Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and audit compliance in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and data analysts to enable product enhancements and new feature development.

What We're Looking For

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in database administration, particularly with PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS.
  • Strong understanding of query optimization, indexing, and partitioning techniques.
  • Experience with distributed data or data lake frameworks (e.g., HDFS, Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with graph or vector databases (e.g., GraphDB, Neo4j, VectorDB) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of database security, access control, and backup/recovery best practices.
  • Analytical, proactive, and collaborative, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
