The Role: Data Engineer (Contract)

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support finance-related reporting and analytics initiatives. This role involves building robust data pipelines and models, ensuring data integrity, and enabling business intelligence and AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from enterprise systems.
  • Develop scalable and optimized data models to support reporting and analytics.
  • Implement data validation, observability, and lineage tracking to ensure data quality and governance.
  • Automate workflows and transformation processes using CI/CD principles and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Collaborate with analysts to provision curated datasets for dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability across analytics workloads.
  • Support AI/ML initiatives by preparing datasets and collaborating with data science teams.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and internal security policies.
  • Produce technical documentation including runbooks and design records.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs.

What Are We Looking For?

We're looking for a proactive and technically strong candidate who can contribute to data engineering efforts in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and automation.
  • Experience in developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with data quality, observability, and governance practices.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and version control tools.
  • Experience with enterprise systems integration (e.g., Workday RAAS).
  • Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data orchestration frameworks and AI/ML enablement is desirable.
