Legal Secretary

We are looking for a legal secretary to join our law firm with the ability to thrive in a successful and satisfying professional services environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the lawyers such as answering phone calls, general upkeep and update of files, arranging appointments, overall general maintenance of the office premises and supplies, etc.
- Assist lawyers with preparing legal documents, drafting of general correspondences and generating and filing of court documents.
- Basic financial duties such as preparing and sending out invoices to clients, tracking status of invoice payments and sending out chasers.
- Conducting research on relevant laws, regulations, and case law.
- Summarizing legal issues and preparing research memos for lawyers
- Proofreading contracts, pleadings, affidavits, notices, and other legal documents.
- Assisting in preparing submissions for courts or tribunals.
- Assisting in organizing and managing case files.
- Keeping track of deadlines and court dates.
- Attending client meetings.
- Preparing summaries of client instructions and legal advice.
- Observing and updating calendar for court proceedings.
- Assisting in filing documents and liaising with court officials.
- Managing correspondence and communication with clients, courts, and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining confidentiality and proper documentation.
- Assisting with due diligence exercises.
Minimum requirements
- Able to work independently
- Good command of English
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel capabilities
- Prior experience in litigation matters will be ideal
- Familiarity with E-litigation is a bonus
- Fresh graduates, including those from polytechnics (in law or other relevant disciplines), will be considered
