What the role is

You are responsible to Head Naval Intelligence (HNI) for advancing Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) offensive and defensive strategic Defence Relations (DR) interest with the Navies-of-Interest (NOIs) under his charge. Your responsibilities range from developing RSN's overarching strategy for the NOIs, orchestrating DR interactions and directing execution of the interactions.

What you will be working on

  • Develop and refine RSN's DR strategies
  • Create and maintain DR ledgers for each NOI
  • Orchestrate defence relation interactions
  • Monitor NOI policies and leadership changes
  • Coordinate bilateral and multilateral engagements
  • Direct open source research efforts
  • Oversee staff development and training
  • Represent the RSN at joint working-level meetings
  • Manage strategic relationships with foreign counterparts

What we are looking for

  • At least 15 years of experience in defence relations, international relations or a related field
  • Strong critical thinking and staff writing skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
  • Meticulous with a strong composure
  • Strong leadership skills
