Supervises: Infant Educarers, Infant Assistants
Infant Capacity: Up to 20 infants (aged 2–18 months)
Job Summary
An established childcare centre in East Singapore, currently holding an ECDA Class B licence, is expanding into Infant Care (Class A). We are looking for a committed and experienced Infant Care Lead to head this new initiative. You will lead the setup of the infant care environment, prepare for licensing, and oversee daily operations once launched.
This is a rare opportunity to shape an infant care programme from the ground up—ideal for someone with deep infant care expertise, leadership confidence, and a passion for nurturing Singapore's youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities
Licensing & Setup
- Lead infant care centre design and space planning in compliance with ECDA guidelines
- Develop and implement SOPs for hygiene, feeding, sleep, emergency response, and responsive caregiving
- Prepare documents and oversee ECDA Class A licensing inspection process
Operations & Supervision
- Manage daily operations of the infant care programme (0–18 months)
- Maintain ECDA-compliant staffing ratios (1:5 or better)
- Monitor infant routines (feeding, sleeping, diapering) and caregiving quality
Curriculum & Development
- Design and implement age-appropriate daily routines and sensory activities
- Track infant development and ensure quality caregiving aligned with EYDF
- Introduce enrichment elements (e.g. infant sign language, music, outdoor time)
Staff Leadership
- Lead, coach, and supervise infant care staff
- Conduct onboarding, mentoring, and performance appraisals
- Foster a respectful, supportive team culture focused on safe, loving care
Parent Communication
- Support new parent onboarding and transition into infant care
- Maintain regular communication with parents via logs, meetings, and updates
- Handle parent concerns with care, clarity, and professionalism
Requirements
Must-Have:
- ECDA-recognised Infant Educarer certification: HCIC, EY1, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on infant care experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Valid Child First Aid certification
- Familiarity with ECDA Class A licensing requirements and audit process
- Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Good to Have:
- Diploma in Early Childhood or Infant Development
- Experience in new centre or programme setup
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or sensory-based infant programmes
- Bilingual (English and Mandarin/Malay/Tamil)
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: $3,600 – $4,200 (negotiable based on experience)
