About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to
lead
and
drive strategic engineering functions
in one of Singapore's largest and most critical waste-to-energy projects — supporting both
nation-building infrastructure development
and
long-term plant operations
.

You will play a
pivotal leadership role
overseeing two key facilities:

  • Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF):
    A first-of-its-kind mega-infrastructure integrating waste treatment, resource recovery, and energy generation.
  • Tuas South Incineration Plant (TSIP):
    Singapore's largest operating waste-to-energy plant, converting waste into electricity and reducing landfill reliance.

Employment Details

  • Salary Range:
    SGD 2,700 – 7,000 (based on qualifications & experience)
  • Contract Type:
    1-year contract, with strong potential for extension or permanent conversion (highly likely permanent for strong performers)
  • Commencement Date:
    Early 2026 (aligned with facility commissioning)
  • Work Location:
    Tuas South (Waste-to-Energy Plant)
  • Shuttle Bus:
    Provided from Serangoon, Jurong East, Tuas West, and Joo Koon

Working Hours:

  • Initial Phase:
    Standard office hours (Mon–Thu 8:30 am–6:00 pm, Fri 8:30 am–5:30 pm)
  • Operational Phase:
    May move into 12-hour rotating shifts (including weekends & public holidays), with 5 rest days per 15-day cycle

Recruitment Timeline

  • After 5 September 2025: Applications consolidated, shortlisting in 3–4 weeks
  • October 2025: 2 rounds of onsite interviews at Tuas South
  • January 2026 (expected): Commencement of employment

Key Responsibilities

Construction / Project Development Phase (IWMF)

  • Lead and manage
    a team of engineers and technicians in design, installation, testing, and commissioning of systems.
  • Oversee contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met on time, within budget, and to safety and quality standards.
  • Represent the engineering team in stakeholder meetings and
    drive cross-functional collaboration
    with regulatory agencies and project partners.
  • Review technical documentation and participate in local/overseas Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).

Operations & Maintenance Phase (TSIP)

  • Lead plant engineering teams
    in supporting daily operations and long-term asset management.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for major equipment (turbines, generators, motors, switchgears, control systems).
  • Manage engineering service contracts, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Establish and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), testing protocols, and safety management systems.
  • Develop and mentor junior engineers and technicians to build internal capabilities.
  • Participate in rotating shift work as required to ensure continuity of operations.

Role Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related)
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience
    , with
    minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Nitec holders with 8+ years of relevant experience and proven leadership capability will also be considered
  • Certifications such as Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW), Boiler Attendant, WSH Officer are an advantage
  • Strong technical and analytical skills; prior experience in waste-to-energy, utilities, or heavy industrial plants preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Navisworks, Primavera P6 is an advantage
  • Mature, resourceful, and able to lead teams independently in a high-stakes environment
  • Willing to work in waste-to-energy facilities and perform rotating shift duties
  • Medical declaration and/or additional assessments may be required as part of shortlisting
