About the job G01 - Sensor / IOT Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain sensor platforms using cloud-based IoT architectures (e.g., AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub).
  • Work hands-on with embedded systems and sensor hardware; develop software interfaces and data flows using technologies such as Python, C++, and ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Integrate and analyze data from geospatial platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for situational awareness and spatial insights.
  • Design end-to-end architecture from edge devices to cloud platforms for real-time sensor data collection, storage, and analytics.
  • Implement data security and cybersecurity protocols in line with industry standards and government compliance policies.
  • Conduct on-site field testing, installations, and liaise with operational teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Apply creative thinking to prototype and deliver novel solutions; contribute to solution blueprints, POCs, and technology evaluation.
  • Lead technical tracks or small project teams, while contributing to a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in sensor technologies, IoT system development, or robotics.
  • Proficiency in programming (Python, C++, ROS) and hardware/software interfacing.
  • Experience with cloud IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT Core, Google Cloud IoT, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of geospatial tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data processing.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Comfortable working in varied terrains or operational environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and also thrive in a team setting.
  • A passion for innovation and out-of-the-box problem solving.
