Freelance Trainer for Youth Programmes

Inspire, guide, and equip the next generation.

We're looking for freelance trainers who can bring energy, clarity, and encouragement to primary and secondary school students across Singapore.

Depending on your skills and availability, there are two main types of opportunities:

1. Apple New Media Programme (Starting 2026)

Hands-on digital media training for students. Trainers will deliver a 26-hour programme (per school) across 4–7 months.

Core topics include:

  • Digital Drawing
  • Videography
  • Augmented Reality
  • Podcasting

Programme tracks:

Different programme tracks use different combinations of the core topics. To teach in a given track, you will need to demonstrate mastery of the relevant topics for that track.

Commitment & expectations:

  • Programmes run between Jan–Oct (for secondary schools) or Nov (for primary schools).
  • Sessions are scheduled at different schools island-wide.
  • Trainers must commit to the full programme (26 hours) once they accept a school assignment.
  • Sessions are usually held weekly, on the same day of the week and time of day, for several months until the full 26 hours are completed.
  • Trainers must own an iPad to facilitate the workshops.
  • Mastery can be demonstrated either by:

  • Attending hands-on trainer workshops (recommended), or

  • Completing equivalent self-learning assignments with satisfactory submissions.

  • Workshops for trainers:

  • Digital Drawing: 21 Oct, 10 am –12pm

  • Videography: 14 Nov, 10 am –12pm
  • Augmented Reality: 21 Nov, 10 am –12pm
  • Podcasting: 25 Nov, 10 am –12pm

    Venue: Riverside Point

  • Additional online briefings will be provided to help you prepare.

2. Ad-hoc Soft Skills Training

One-off or short-term workshops in areas such as social innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking, digital marketing, growth mindset, leadership, etc, public speaking, etc.

Commitment & expectations:

  • Sessions are typically half-day or full-day, over one or a few days.
  • An online briefing will be provided before you start.
  • Scheduling of sessions depends on demand.

What you'll do (for both opportunities)

  • Deliver engaging and interactive sessions (all lesson materials provided).
  • Help students understand and apply key concepts.
  • Create a positive, encouraging learning environment.
  • Adapt your approach for different student needs.
  • Maintain good working relationships with school teachers.
  • Occasionally submit reports on student progress.

Requirements (for both opportunities)

Must-haves

  • At least a Diploma or A-Level qualification
  • Confidence in public speaking (leading a class of 30-40 students)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and classroom management
  • Reliability — once you commit to a programme, you see it through
  • Registered with MOE as an Instructor (free; takes 6–8 weeks; can be done before applying)
  • Apple Teacher Certification (free, modular, self-paced online course — must be completed before deployment)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Apple apps (Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Freeform)
  • Knowledge in areas like Digital Marketing, Storytelling, Entrepreneurship, etc.
  • Prior experience as a trainer, teacher, or facilitator

Application process

1. Submit the application form:

2. Interview (if shortlisted)

  • In-person, at Riverside Point
  • Includes a 5–10 min teaching demo using a slide deck we provide
  • If you're applying for the Apple New Media track, your interview should be scheduled in September so you can attend the October–November workshops.

What you can expect

  • A meaningful way to impact and inspire youth
  • Flexible freelance assignments — you choose what to take on
  • Training and materials provided before you teach
  • A supportive trainer community and opportunities to grow

Is this you?

  • You enjoy working with young people and can connect with them easily
  • You're comfortable leading and engaging a classroom
  • You're flexible and adaptable
  • You want freelance work that's purposeful and impactful
